tax revoltThis is a very ‘libertarian’ initiative, though Marc himself doesn’t describe himself or the project in that way. The Arizona Tax Revolt is a great name, too, and describes Marc’s drive to lower and cap property tax in the state of Arizona.

In Arizona, property taxes are collected on every piece of real estate, based upon a valuation by government-employed assessors. A fundamental problem with that system is this: real estate values are fluctuating, usually escalating, and the total annual tax thus escalates along with it. It needs to stop, and that’s what the Arizona Tax Revolt is about. This is a project by citizens to take back some control over the growth of the burgeoning government in their state – what could be more libertarian than that?
